What is Tobramycin Ophthalmic?
Tobramycin Ophthalmic ointment is a topical antibiotic for application to the eye that is used for the treatment of superficial ocular infection caused by organisms sensitive to tobramycin.
How is tobramycin ophthalmic given?
Tobramycin Ophthalmic is applied topically to the surface of the cornea.
What if I miss giving my pet the medication?
If you miss a dose, give it when you remember, but if it is close to the time for the next dose, skip the dose you missed and give it at the next scheduled time, and return to the regular dosing schedule. Never give your pet two doses at once or give extra doses.
Are there any potential side effects?
Side effects include minor ocular irritation, redness, and hypersensitivity reactions.
Are there any risk factors for this medication?
Tobramycin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics. Prolonged or repeated use of antibiotics may result in superinfection by resistant organisms. Distributes to milk; use with caution in lactating patients

How do I store Tobramycin Ophthalmic?
Tobramycin Ophthalmic should be stored at room temperature between 36-77°F.
What should I do in case of emergency?
If you suspect an overdose or an adverse reaction to the medication, call your veterinary office immediately. If they are not available, follow their directions in contacting an emergency facility.
